The Senate is the highest collegial body of the university, which adopts resolutions binding on all university bodies, as well as its employees and students. It can also express opinions on behalf of the entire academic community of the university.
The Senate is composed of the Rector, Vice-Rectors, Chancellor, representatives of academic teachers and administrative staff, representatives of collaborating institutions, as well as representatives of the student community.
§ 29(1) of the Statute of Gdańsk University of Technology states:
The Senate consists of:
(…)
3) students and doctoral students, who constitute no less than 20% of the members of the Senate, with each of these groups being represented by at least 1 representative.
